Behind
Made for Motherhood

Hi, I’m Emily. I am the wife of the most ambitious, dedicated and loving man, mom to two beautiful boys, Rory & Finn.

I started dating my now husband in August 2019. In December, we found out we were pregnant with our firstborn. Rory, and we were married in March 2020 when the world stopped. It was at this point that my life took an incredible turn and Matt and I decided together that I would become a Stay-At-Home Mom.

Prior to becoming a SAHM, I was a teacher and a School Counselor. I spent 8 wonderful years focusing on my passion of educating and improving the mental health needs of students, but my heart was so ready to embrace all that motherhood could offer.

My simple pleasures include seeing my children smile, pillow talk with my husband, watching reruns of The Kitchen on Food Network, soaking up the sun with a book in hand, playing Dave Matthews Band on repeat, a warm Peppermint Mocha on a semi-cold winter day, listening to classical music while writing at a coffee shop & words of gratitude to God.

I am not always a ray of sunshine. I have my moments, especially when the house needs cleaning and the to-do list is piling up, or, the latest and greatest chapter of my life, Aunt Flo is coming. I am learning to be intentional letting go of what I can and prioritizing what I need. I am trying to put my needs first and then I am working my butt off to be a supportive wife and emotionally and physically attentive mama.

My hope is that this blog can be a source of strength, calm or connectedness for you. I’d love to be another mama in your “village”.
